Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

Located along the main highway of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral stands as the ‘central church’ of the island. It is accessible along the Rizal Avenue, fronting the Rizal Monument and Park. For those who do not know “Rizal” comes from the name Jose P. Rizal, who is the National Hero of the Philippines, which is why his name is used in many streets, schools, towns, etc in the country.

The other side of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral is on Taft St., which is also the same road to access another tourist destination, the Plaza Cuartel. The church serves as the Apostolic Vicariate of Palawan.

There are regular mass schedules at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. From Mondays to Saturdays, there is a mass at 5:00am, 6:30am and 6:30pm. During Sundays, there are several schedules starting from 5 o’clock in the morning until 7 o’clock in the evening. The regular schedule of baptism is on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday while the Nuptial and Funeral is by appointment. Reverend Father Pepito Rollo is the current Parish Rector of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Palawan.

For those who want to visit the Palawan Cathedral, it is just a 300-meter walk going south from the Palawan Baywalk Park. It is just about 2.5 kilometers from the Palawan Airport & Blue Lagoon Inn & Suites. Can be accessed through the main highway where jeepneys regularly ply, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral is a known tourist destination, so asking for direction is surely not a problem.
