Maia’s Beach Resort, Bantayan

One of the less advertised resorts in Bantayan Island is Maia’s Beach Resort. It is luxurious in style and quality but the marketing efforts of the owner is very less. It is one of the less visited resorts in the island because it is in a secluded area, far from the southeastern beaches of Sta. Fe, about 3 kilometers from the main road and some parts of the road is undeveloped and has an unpleasant smell due to a poultry nearby. But once you reach Maia’s Beach Resort, you will be pleased by the relaxing ambiance and wonderful garden that surrounds it.

Maia’s Beach Resort is situated in Basawon, Sulangan, Bantayan Island, Cebu, Philippines. It is about 15-20 minutes away from the seaport of Santa Fe and about 20-25 minutes from main town of Bantayan where the Bantayan Church is situated. The resort offers fully air-conditioned Cottages at P1850 for twin-sharing. They have 6 cottages so reservation ahead of time is a must to avoid being denied or passed to other resorts especially during Summer and Holy Week.

Swimming during high-tide at Maia’s beach resort is not satisfactory as the waves coming from the open ocean is very strong and you may be bumped to the hard concrete and stones near the beach. Swimming is only ideal during low-tide so be sure to check the local calendar or any crew for the low-tide time. Maia’s beach resort also offers a van, motorcycles and outriggers to guests at an affordable price. This will be used as transportation going to the different nearby islands and attractions in Bantayan.

  3. emiline says:

How much po ang per night Sa Tristan’s? For five persons( three children my husband and I.) Pwede po ba dalhin ang alaga namin na small dog? Paano po ang pag punta sa Bantayan dito po kami sa Labangon Cebu City. Thank you.

  4. jocelyn says:

    how can we contact you?

  5. Maudey says:

    hello there!

i’ll be going to bantayan in two weeks and i am torn between maia’s and kota beach resort (it’s near sugar beach, i think).. which do you think is the better choice? i’ve been seeing reviews that the beach in maia’s is not that good. how true is that?

looking forward to your reply. thanks and more power!

    • Maudey,

The beach in Maia’s is awful. If you want to relax and stay in a clean and comfortable place, Maia’s is a good option. You can swim in the pool instead. If you really want seawater and good beach, Kota is better among the two.

  6. Rhea Pamisa says:

Hi! Good day!! I would like to ask if how much would it cost for a barkada room? That would accomodate less than 20 persons..

  7. donna says:

how much po yung per nyt nang cottage?

  8. Wow, I’ve been to Bantayan Island a couple of times and never heard of this resort.

They do have it well hidden! haha

They have set fee for lunch and dinner have one set price? Do they have several courses to choose from for one price?

The room price is a bit more than what I usually pay but perhaps their rooms are nicer.

    • aimee says:

Where do you usually stay in bantayn?

    • Rusty says:

Aimee, I have stayed mostly at Tristan’s. Awesome food, right on the beach if you walk down the steps at high tide you’ll be waste deep in the Visayan Sea. Rooms start at P600. Now this is a budget resort so if you like to stay in more luxuries places it might not be right for you. Its going under new management soon so that may change everything too. I hope not, I love it.

I stayed at Ogtong last week, very nice there but pricey. I went there because a new expat might not like the more Filipino type rooms at Tristan’s but we ended up at Tristan’s on our last night (extra night) because he liked the food there.

I plan on staying at Maia’s for my next visit. Especially if just me and my girl go. The seclusion would be nice.
