Musical Fountain in Ocean Park

One of the best and unforgettable 25-30 minute shows in the Philippines is the Musical Fountain in Ocean Park, Manila. It is a synchronized and alternated display of water, lights, fire and fireworks comparable to Sentosa’s Songs of the Sea in Singapore. The Musical Fountain Show is one of the many attractions where adults, kids by heart and kids by feeling will surely enjoy.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis at the Musical Fountain. Before the start of the show at 6:30 pm, be sure to check-in so you can get the best seat. On the entrance gate, the crew will provide a plastic coat, which will serve as protection against the haze coming from the water fountains which are blown by the air towards uncertain directions. The problem with the disposable plastic coat is that it adds heat causing you to sweat when wearing it, which is why some people, chooses not to wear it unless they know the wind is coming their way.

The Ocean Park Musical Fountain is a type of animated fountain for entertainment purposes that creates an aesthetic design and sometimes 3D images that includes known characters such as Nemo, the clownfish. This is done by using the effects of timed sound waves and timed light or laser against water particles and at the building that stands in front which serves as backdrop. The water refracts and reflects the light, and in doing so, a three-dimensional image can be created and one of the very notable 3D image is the Octopus. They regularly change their theme and story so for those who have seen the show already, you might want to check if they have a different story already and visit Musical Fountain again.

The Musical Fountain uses hundreds of water jets and laser emitters which cost millions of pesos.

Companies offer software and hardware that makes the pumps turn on and off and lights to change in response to the bass and treble of music fed through the system, causing the fountain to respond automatically without a need for manual choreography.

The Musical Fountain Show regular ticket rate is at P250 on weekdays and P300 on weekends. Kids who are below 2 feet are free of charge. There are times of the year when the Musical Fountain is on a promo at P50 to P100 for the entrance fee. Just simply follow the mechanics found in Manila Ocean Park’s website. There are also regular Promotional Packages which are very tempting and saves you a lot of money up to P400 than experiencing it one attraction per day. The Musical Fountain can be experienced every Wednesday to Sunday at 6:30pm and is directed by Freddie Santos.

The Musical Fountain Show is one of the several attractions inside Ocean Park. It is located inside the Ocean Park compound, at the back of Quirino Grandstand, nearby Kilometer Zero and Rizal Park along Roxas Boulevard.

Be one of the spectators of the spectacular Musical Fountain Show and you will surely go home telling everyone about your great experience.

ive always been fascinated by this great high tech mix of lights, sounds and take note…water via the Manila Ocean Park’s Singing Fountain…i cant help but compare it also from Singapore’s Songs from the Sea at the Sentosa Island, which me and my mom and sister were priviileged to watch and see and get awed with during our Singapore vacation a year ago in November 2009. one of the scenes i liked was the lava explosion which was almost for real!
AWESOME and SPECTACULAR was the show and but still kudos to the SG version and i think thats the better show since they came in with the whole idea first here in Asia, but in fairness we Pinoys shld also be thankful that its cheaper and closer to see this wonderful show here in our homeland. i treated my mom to see the RP version this April for her 65th bday…
nice pics you have here for the article! as great as mine? cheers!
